Showing big Toronto a good time
 
This weekend, College Street, known as the "heart of Little Italy" will mark another edition of the vibrant and colourful "Taste of Little Italy" festival. The event is a music and street party which celebrates the rich culture of the famous strip. Activities include a sidewalk sale which will be held from noon to 6 p.m. both on Friday June 15 and Saturday June 16, between Euclid and Shaw. The two-day period will also feature the rhythmic sounds of over 20 eclectic bands who will be entertaining from patios, balconies and street corners.
Children will be treated to face painting, clowns and a wide range of activities. New events for this years festival will include a fashion show, and a chance to win a trip to Italy.
Some of the scheduled performers for the third annual event include Laura Hubert (at 680 College), Marco DAmico (656 College), The Luigi Scanga Trip (622 College Street), Toronto Jazz Band (766 College Street), Puente del Diablo at 556 College Street, Jorge Miguel (641 College street), Daniel Huezo & Clave Guanaca (537 College street), and Jorge Miguels Flamenco Group, just to name a few.
The event is the creation of the Little Italy Business Improvement Association, which is committed to strengthening the strips diverse array of residents and retailers, professional business people, restaurant owners, café operators, and nightclub proprietors. Last years successful edition hosted over 100,000 visitors.
