It was a big party where people, even beyond the many prizes presented or received (a matter of points of view), had first of all a lot of fun.
Last Saturday, over 500 people participated in the draw of the grand prize for the Key to Win contest, organized by Multicom Media in celebration of the 50th anniversary of its flagship publication, the starting point of everything: Corriere Canadese.
For several months, readers of Corriere, Correo Canadiense, and Town Crier, and listeners of Ciao Radio Corriere received a special card from the sponsors of this big contest: Colombo Chrysler, The One and Only Jewellery, Saeco, Nella, Olvi Importing, Consiglio USave Centre, CAA Travel, Suits U Fine, Menardi Iron Design, Cosmetic Perfumery, Le Baron Furniture, Cookstown Mall, and The Docks Entertainment. These cards entitled people to receive envelopes with surprise gifts and to participate in the final draw of the super prizes offered by many generous sponsors.
While the clock ticked down to the moment of the last draw, many people from Woodbridge, Toronto, and also Niagara, Kitchener, Windsor, Hamilton and Barrie, took advantage of the time to sip a coffee (courtesy of Saeco) or taste a biscotto (by Italfina), or - even better - try and obtain a good price from the salespeople of Colombo Chrysler, who seemed inclined to greater generosity... no fewer than 12 lucky people bought a car at rock-bottom prices.
The zenith of the day came at 4:30 p.m., when the voice of Ciao Radio-Corriere, Giuliana Beato, led the draw of the prizes: over 30 prizes were awarded, thanks to the sponsors, to as many winners.
Then came the super prizes: a trip to Cuba, won by Robert Lamacchia, and a Saeco espresso machine (the one that does it all on its own), won by Mario Di Giulio. Lady Luck played one of her tricks: the return air ticket to anywhere in North America or the Caribbean, courtesy of Colombo Chrysler, and the beautiful 2-kt diamond ring, courtesy of The One and Only Jewellery, went to the very same person, who had merely a dozen cards. Gus Tzotzos can well claim to be a lucky guy.
