Taking early break Breakfast delicacies to set you moving in the morning By Rita Simonetta

You're groggy, your breath stinks, you're in a rush, and as my surrogate Aunt Judy from Nova Scotia would say, you look like you've been beaten by an ugly stick. This might explain why some people don't feel like enjoying the most important meal of the day: breakfast. But if you do miss out, then you lose throughout the entire day because having a nutritious breakfast gives you the fuel to last until lunchtime.
It's not just adults who aren't getting their morning fuel - young children often rush off to school without eating a nutritious breakfast, and that, as some nutritionists point out, is bad news. In fact, research shows that children who eat breakfast fare better in school, and have a healthier diet.
A big breakfast complaint from a lot of people out there is that the dishes available are just plain boring. For them, the early eating hour consists of cold or hot cereal. A glass of orange juice. Maybe a halved grapefruit, or a slice of toast.
Nonsense. Spice up your next breakfast. You wouldn't have the same thing for dinner every night, so have the same mindset when it comes to the morning. Fruit salads are packed with taste and vitamins, and are a nice light start. A muffin once a week is okay, but indulging in these high-fat sweets everyday is a definite health no-no. Omelettes are fast and easy, and there's a whole range of ingredients that you can add to make for a very filling breakfast. Frittata (open-face Italian-style omelettes) are also wonderful breakfast treats that use a whole slew of ingredients. Bacon and eggs are delicious to have, provided that they are not a daily routine, as this dish is high in fat and cholesterol. Bananas microwaved with a sprinkling of brown sugar are delectable, but not the best idea if you are watching the waist.
A breakfast casserole takes a little time to prepare but it can be done the evening before, and then refrigerated for ready use. Pop it in the oven in the morning for 45 minutes while everyone is getting ready and you have a quick and nutritious breakfast. For this hearty morning start to your day you will need bread, margarine, cheddar cheese, eggs, hot sausage, and salt for seasoning.
