Hopefully all this talk about climate change won't reflect badly on these smooth jazz sounds coming from Kyoto. This long-awaited debut album comes after eight years of well-received production and remix work by a pair of Japanese brothers, Shuya and Yoshihiro Okino. With ace keyboardist Hajime Yoshizawa (who has his own CD on the Solaria label) they've delivered a funky set of jazz dance and broken beat tracks with positive vibes courtesy of soulful guest vocalists Vanessa Freeman, Victor Davies, Maiya James and Guida De Palma. Also helping out are stars from the European scene that has adopted KJM as one of their own: Alex Attias, Da Lata's Chris Franck and Beanfield's Jan Krause (who mixed eight of the 11 tracks).
