Fluido Fashion Show - Italian designer Mimmo Baronello and his fashion label Fluido will be presenting "Soffio" the Spring-Summer 2002 Colelction at Enoch Turner Schoolhouse, 106 Trinity Street, on Monday October 22. Pietro Adamo - Italian-Canadian and nationally recognized artist Pietro Adamo will be presenting his exhibition of original paintings, prints, and frescoes, entitled "Canto Libero," at Envers Chapin Gallery, 37 Sherbourne Street. Until November 1.

Italian Canadian Conference - The 16th Annual Italian Canadian Conference hosted by the Frank Iacobucci Centre for Italian-Canadian Studies is scheduled for Saturday October 27, at Alumni Hall of St Michael's College, Senate Room, Fourth Floor, 121 St Joseph Street, from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The conference will focus on the themes of acculturation, integration,and assimilation of the post-World War II immigrant generation.

Body/Machine - A conference on the body/technology interface Friday, October 26 through Sunday, October 28 in Toronto body/machine is a three-day public and academic conference dedicated to exploring the body/technology interface. Specimen - From October 25 to 28, Art System at 327 Spadina Avenue, Toronto will be presenting "Specimen" by Louis Liliefeldt. Louise Liliefedlt is a Toronto-based performance and visual artist born in Cape Town, South Africa. She has presented her work across Canada as well as in Chicago, Poland and Turkey. Liliefeldt's work is predominately concerned with the politics of identity, gender and race.

Sixty4Steps Contemporary Art - Sixty4Steps Contemporary Art is pleased to present an exhibition of recent work by Jennifer McMackon. The exhibition consists of an installation of 100 paintings entitled Mind Mirrors. The Mind Mirrors represent one element of her multi-media practice, which also includes sculptural, painted and photo/videographic components. These particular works have been part of McMackon's constellation of experiments with visual information since 1997.Until October 27th.

Canadian Humanitarian Initiative - Night Of A Thousand Dinners is a humanitarian outreach launched by The Canadian Landmine Foundation and the United Nations Association of the USA, and conceived of by a Canadian, Frank O‚Dea. Scheduled to take place around the world on November 30th, 2001, the fundraising initiative to raise money to clear landmines is based on a simple premise: individuals inviting other individuals into their homes and asking each guest to make a monetary contribution that goes directly to clearing landmines.
