Corsa dei Ceri

This event in Gubbio in the province of Perugia harks back to the traditional race. Regatta of the Ancient Maritime Republics

The race is preceded by a colourful parade marked by beautiful, traditional costumes. The event is marked by the ancient rivalry of the cities which once battled for sea control. New boats are currently in use; however, they are identical to their traditional counterparts in design. Held during the first week of June.
