Molise workers suspend strike

Employees return to their position at the company

By

The workers of “La Molisana”, a pasta making factory, in Campobasso have suspended the strike. Beginning April 1, these employees will be returned to their regular post at work. The decision came after a meeting held with the president of the Region, Michele Iorio, that convinced the company’s owner, Palmerino Torzilli, to not draw up any contract for now with the group Maione. After the last negotiations of “La Molisana”, it was supposed to be rented to the food group di Cicciano, Napoli, producer of the pasta “Russo” that would slowly acquire the company. The upheaval occurred when consensus from the company’s dependents was never gathered and for this reason had started to strike. Now everything has been postponed until April 5 when the owners of the companies will look to the task force in Rome for occupation, to discuss even with the social group to look at the destiny of the pasta company.
