Italy has been torn in two

By

It is truly a an Italy turn in two because of the weather conditions that the Centre South is facing with a high degree of humidity and all the North, from Piemonte to Friuli Venezia Giulia, finds itself in badtimes. The most critical situation is probably that in Lombard, hit with horrible thunderstorms, accompanied with strong winds and in some cases great gusts of wind that has created a lot of destruction and even the death of a man. In Ranzanico a man was crushed by a tree.
In Alto Adige, between the Chiusa station and the Gardena Bridge, the Euronight train from Mondaco to Napoli derailed just shortly after midnight due to strong thunderstorm. The train line was reopened in the morning. The only other reported problems were a group of scouts that were caught because a tree fell on their tent.
In an afternoon at Val Pusteria, a storm with hail had fallen. This had forced road 49 to close followed by 52. In Trentino, many firefighters intervened to help with the problems of fallen trees. The zone that was most hit was Valsugana where there was a long electrical black-out. In Veneto, the bursts of wind that followed for many minutes had taken down trees, telephone and eletrical poles.
Other than Lombard, the region that faced the largest hail storm in the middle of the night was Piemonte. After the damage caused by the downpour, violent storms had hit the Valsesia.
An alert had been released to the North East and Emilia-Romana region that another wave of bad weather could hit again. This is a bad notice for the thousands of people that have been planning their vactation along the Emilia-Romagna riviera.
