Neil Barret: an Italian fashion's adopted son

By

The English designer Neil Barret is Italian fashion's adopted son. Discovered by Gucci, Barret collaborated with a number of other big names such as Pitti, before launching his own collections for men and women in Milano in 2000.

Barret's designs have international appeal. The characteristic casually chic look is as well-suited to an "aperitivo" in Milano's or strolling along the Champs-Elysées in Paris, as it is to Westwood afternoons or lunch with friends in London.

The Autumn-Winter collection 2002-2003 lines up a selection of the warm and cozy which includes oversized wool sweaters with aged leather, nappa and pony trim. Indeed, one of this designers signatures is the use of aged or stressed materials. Not only do the various treatments involved provide a certain look, but also render the materials much softer to the touch.

The collection emphasizes white, brown and beige for both genders, with a thought to couples who like the partner look.

Neil Barret is not without a moment of fun indeed he's got brown leather sandals paired with thick woolen socks. Ok, someone, someday was going to try to introduce Friar Tuck fashion, right?
